To Benight & Beguile: ABOUT

STORY SYNOPSIS:

The story begins in the autumn of 1911 in Edwardian New England. Evangeline Jordan (Evie as her family calls her) travels from London to Welshport Island in Maine's Frenchman Bay eager to start her new life as the bride in an arranged marriage to Sebastian Lord, the heir to a wealthy and powerful publishing dynasty.

Evie's in-laws welcome her at the onset of her arrival and she is brought into the frigid family fold by the Lord Family’s stoic and superstitious matriarch  Rebecca Lockwood-Lord, Rebecca's cunning and manipulative son Jacob, Jacob’s troubled 10 year old daughter Charlotte, her adoringly handsome new husband-to-be Sebastian and members of the household staff.

The happy events surrounding the much-anticipated wedding quickly turn upside down when the lure of supernatural forces expose secrets of a family plagued by betrayal, ghostly hauntings, devious deception, volatile romantic entanglements, greed and even murder.

Throughout the series Evie and the residents of Welshport must traverse the treacherous waters of Love and hateLife and Death, and most of all, Good and Evil.

All the drama is centered in the small village on the island and the Lord Family's gothic estate, Tirymör House, that is surrounded by a shadowy forest of the same name. The village seems welcoming at first but constant rumors circulate of what truly happens behind the stone walls of Tirymör.

Can true love survive in the shadows?
